Important
Renovation work is often carried out during the off-season, while crowds are expected during the high season.
Currently, the baptistery is undergoing restoration of its vault's mosaics.
The cupola climb involves navigating a steep and narrow staircase, which can be challenging for some.
The cathedral functions as a working church, and entry is not guaranteed. Operating hours may change without notice. Please note that the Cathedral is closed to all tourists on Sundays; instead, we will visit the Ancient Basilica of Santa Reparata (the Crypt).
Florence can be hot in the summer. This tour includes outdoor portions that may be in direct sunlight. Please bring a hat, a small umbrella, and sunscreen if you are sensitive to the sun.
Entry may be denied if you do not comply with the cathedral's dress code: no short skirts, shorts, or sleeveless shirts.
Backpacks of any size are not allowed.
Clients are required to arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour begins due to timed entry tickets (tickets are valid only for 5 to 10 minutes from printed entry time).
Please note that once the tour has started, late arrivals cannot join.
