My List of the Best Cinque Terre Hotels

Hotel Porto Roca (Monterosso al Mare) – Iconic Views

Cinque Terre Hotel Porto Roca

Porto Roca is the only large luxury Cinque Terre hotel within a stroll of one of the five towns. If you like big hotels with lots of facilities, then this will suit your style.

WOW-Factor: This classic hotel that sits dramatically above Monterosso, with a pool that feels as though it’s spilling straight into the sea. Spend the afternoon pampered in the wellness center and the evening sipping a spritz and relaxing on the terrace. The view is cinematic, especially as the lights begin to twinkle along the coast.

Arriving: The hotel is a short walk from the old town and 10-15 minutes from the train station. Paid parking lots are available nearby, and taxis are also available.

La Torretta Lodge (Manarola) – Boutique Medieval Tower

Cinque Terre hotels - La Torretta Lodge

If staying in one of the villages is important to you, then La Torretta is a convenient luxury option. This medieval tower has been transformed into a chic boutique lodge with bold designer interiors seamlessly integrated with the historic structure.

WOW-Factor: The real magic happens outside, where you can enjoy moments on the terrace for the most incredible views of Manarola historic town and of the sun melting into the sea. The rooftop hot tub isn’t exactly a pool, but it is a nice touch!

Arriving: The lodge can arrange a golf cart or shuttle pick up from the local car park on the outskirts of Manarola. Arriving by train involves a 10-15 minute walk uphill (FYI: as Cinque Terre hotels go, it’s not unusual for guests to have to walk to their accommodation).

La Sosta di Ottone III (Chiesanuova) – 400 Years of History

Cinque Terre hotels - La Sosta di Ottone III

Perched in a medieval hamlet above Levanto, La Sosta offers intimacy and refinement. This historic residence, dating back to around 1600, has been renovated with care to preserve its original beauty.

WOW-Factor: With only six elegantly appointed rooms, it feels hidden and private. Special moments include breakfast on the terrace, and evening dining at the onsite Michelin Guide restaurant – recognized for some of the best local cuisine and regional wines. Bookings are essential!

Arriving: Free private parking is available 150 meters from the hotel, which can be reached on foot or using the monorail. The hamlet of Chiesanuova is 6 km from both Levanto and Monterosso. You can arrive by train to either town and reach Chiesanuova in 15 minutes by taxi.

Belvedere 9 (La Spezia) – Agriresort Close to Town

Agriturismo Belvedere 9

Belvedere 9 is a boutique agriturismo (“agriresort”) overlooking the Gulf of Poets. This tastefully renovated farmhouse has chic light-filled rooms that add a touch of modern luxury.

WOW-Factor: This is where afternoons drift by, between the pool, the hot tub, and the panoramic terrace. Guests come for the views but stay for the sense of calm; even watching boats cross the gulf becomes a kind of meditation.

Arriving: Free parking on-site is an unusual amenity this close to La Spezia. Taxis are available for the short ride from La Spezia train station (where you can catch the Cinque Terre Express and trains to other parts of Italy). It’s also a short drive to the historic town of Portovenere.

Sesta Terra Natural Resort (Framura) – Glamping in Style

Cinque Terre hotels - Sesta Terra Natural Resort

I love a good glamping resort, and this one deserves to be on the list of best Cinque Terre hotels, because it really does it with style. For something truly unique, this eco-luxury resort sits on the cliffs of Framura (on the edge of the Cinque Terre National Park).

WOW-Factor: Sleep in a designer (posh) tent or wooden-style lodge. Set amongst trees and with sea views, you can enjoy the sense of space and embrace the feeling of seclusion. A day here is spent moving between the infinity pool, yoga deck, and gourmet restaurant. As night falls, sip cocktails on the panoramic terrace with only the stars above for company.

Arriving: A remote location, but guests have private parking, and there is a handy hotel shuttle service to the nearest train station (for access to Cinque Terre). Framura town can be reached in around 5 minutes by car.

Writer's Pick: Golfo dei Poeti Relais & Spa (Montemarcello)

Golfo dei Poeti Relais & Spa

WOW-Factor: Presiding majestically over the Gulf of La Spezia, Golfo dei Poeti Relais & Spa is an unparalleled blend of elegance, tranquility, and panoramic beauty.

For something truly amazing, this boutique 5-star hotel is a serene escape with elegant and refined rooms, terraced gardens, an infinity pool, and world-class spa facilities.

The location is a bit of a stretch as a Cinque Terre hotel, but since this was named as one of the best Five Star Hotels in Italy in 2025, I think it’s worth driving the few extra kms!

Cinque Terre hotels - Golfo dei Poeti Relais & Spa

My Tip to Make it Special: Treat yourself to a spa day featuring sensory showers, a sauna, and aromatherapy treatments. For a memorable evening, enjoy a romantic dinner at the hotel's restaurant, savoring international and regional Ligurian cuisine while watching the sunset over the Gulf.

Access: Free parking is available close to the hotel, with a shuttle service to transport guests and luggage. For something out of the ordinary, there’s a helipad available for overnight guests. Montemarcello is a 30-minute drive to La Spezia (where you can get a train or boat to Cinque Terre). It’s possible by taxi, but the remote location makes sightseeing a challenge without a car.

Which Kind of WOW Fits You?

  • If you dream of infinity pools with international-style spa facilities, choose Porto Roca and Golfo dei Poeti Relais & Spa
  • For countryside calm, and the feeling of a hidden retreat, then Sesta Terra Natural Resort, Agriturismo Costa di Faraggiana, Villanova Nature & Wellness, or La Sosta di Ottone III (Chiesanuova) will deliver
  • Food lovers will be in heaven at La Sosta di Ottone III, Sesta Terra Natural Resort, or Golfo dei Poeti Relais & Spa
  • For the convenience of being close to town, but away from the masses, choose Porto Roca, La Torretta Lodge, or Belvedere 9
  • And for something unique and unforgettable, Sesta Terra Natural Resort delivers glamping with serious style.

These Cinque Terre hotels and retreats don’t just offer a bed: they offer the kind of experiences that create unforgettable memories. Wherever you decide to stay, I hope this selection of amazing places is inspiring and has helped you with your vacation planning.
