How to BUY a Cinque Terre Card ONLINE – With Trenitalia!

If you’re coming to Cinque Terre, then you’ll probably need a Cinque Terre Multiservice Card.

You can buy the Cinque Terre Card at some train stations, from the national park’s office, or online.

The main reason we buy online is to avoid the long queues at the train station. You can easily spend an hour or more standing in line which is entirely avoidable. So plan for it, buy online, and enjoy more of your time in Cinque Terre!

Where to Buy Cinque Terre Card Online

To buy a Cinque Terre Card (Multiservice Card) online, you can use several options, including:

  • The Cinque Terre national park website – Need to create an account.
  • MyPass app – Pay additional service fee.
  • Trenitalia website – No additional fees, and you can check out as a guest.

  • Cinque Terre Trekking Card.
  • Cinque Terre Treno – Multiservice Card.

Easiest Way to Buy Cinque Terre Card Online

We travel to Cinque Terre several times a year. And even though we are residents in La Spezia, we still have to buy tickets like everyone else.

For quick a purchase that is hassle-free and reliable, we use the Trenitalia website because:

Buying directly from Trenitalia means there are no additional booking fees.

You can checkout as a guest – no time wasted setting up an account.

Trenitalia is Italy’s largest rail network operator, and they manage the Cinque Terre Express trains.

How to Buy a Cinque Terre Card Using Trenitalia Website

Instructions to buy skip-the-line tickets:

  1. Go to the Trenitalia website
  2. Select Regional Offers & Services Tab
  3. Select ‘Multiservice Cards' Option
  4. Choose 1, 2, or 3-day passes as an Adult, Child, Senior, or Family
  5. Enter your details (including an email for the tickets to be sent)
  6. Check out and make payment as a guest or use your Trenitalia login details.

1. Go To: Cinque Terre Card Purchase Screen

Using our direct link. Select the ‘Offers and Regional Services' Tab.

2. Add Your Ticket Types

Each type of ticket has an abbreviated code. In the screen shot below I have added comments so you can see the different types of tickets.

You can buy 1, 2, or 3-day passes as an Adult, Child, Senior, or Family. Multiday passes work out a lot cheaper than buying individual daily passes.

You can add different types of tickets by selecting ‘Add Journey’.

When you’ve added all your tickets, you can select ‘SEARCH’.

3. Checkout Process

You can checkout as a guest or use your Trenitalia Login details.

Fill in your details. It’s important that you provide the name of each traveler. You will also need an email address for the eTickets to be sent.

Payment can be made using 6 different payment options.

Once you’ve completed the online purchase of a Cinque Terre Pass, you will receive an eTicket.

The screenshot below is an example of the eTicket that will be sent to the email address provided. These eTickets don’t need to be validated. But you do need access to this (using a phone or device) so you can show this to an inspector if requested.

How to Buy Cinque Terre Card Using a Smartphone

You can also buy the Cinque Terre Multiservice Pass using a smartphone (the Trenitalia website is mobile responsive).

It’s more or less the same process as above EXCEPT for the first step.

To find the Cinque Terre Card purchase screen using a mobile device, all you need to do is scroll left to find the ‘Offers and Regional Services' Tab.

Ticket Information

Cinque Terre Card Refunds

Once you’ve bought a Cinque Terre Multiservice Card (in person or online from any provider), the tickets are only refundable in case of:

  • An orange or red weather alert issued by the National Park Authority of Cinque Terre.
  • Journey cancellation due to Trenitalia staff strike action.

Yes. You can buy the Cinque Terre cards on the day of travel or in advance.

Yes, but only one change of date is permitted, and it must be done at least 24 hours prior to the travel date.

The 2026 price for a Cinque Terre Card is variable depending on whether it is a low, medium or high demand day.

Prices for an adult ticket are:

  • High Demand €32.50
  • Medium Demand €27.00
  • Low Demand €19.50

As a general rule:

  • High Demand days are the weekend days from Easter to the end of August.
  • Medium Demand is some days in April and May. Most weekdays in June to August, and most of September.
  • Low Demand is most of March and early April. Plus weekdays in May and most of October.

Yes, multiday tickets will save you money. For example:

  • 1 day (adult) Cinque Terre Pass in peak season is €32.50.
  • If you were visiting Cinque Terre for 3 days and bought a single day pass for each day, it would cost a total of €97.50.
  • A 3 day (multiday) pass is €78,50.

So, you save over €20!
